Tales of the Cosmic Fall

It all started on a warm summer evening in 2016. Klaus (bass) and Dan (drums) met for the first time and began laying down some grooves. It was groovy, indeed. But after a couple of beers, they realized a guitar was actually essential for playing psychedelic stoner rock.
So they somehow found Mathias, and the jamming began. Jam after jam, it became clear that writing fully structured songs wasn’t really their thing. Spontaneous creations of cosmic grooves and melodies were more their style. With a recording device in hand, their journey began.

Two months later, their first album was released, and "First Fall" got some attention in the scene. Some might describe it as blues-infused psychedelic stoner kraut jam space rock… or just psychedelic rock.
Fortunately, they found someone interested enough to release it in an old-school format. Thanks to the wonderful Clostridium Records, they got it pressed on vinyl.
In 2017, they continued to play, improvise, and hit the record button while they were at it. After a few live shows and recording sessions, they decided the world shouldn’t have to wait any longer, and it was time to “Kick Out The Jams”. You guessed it, 92 minutes of pure improvised jams, released as a double vinyl in March 2017. As with every release, there were also CDs and digital copies.
Not much later, they still had jams to share, so they teamed up with the band Aphodyl to release a split album in July 2017.

All good things must come to an end, but not this one… at least not yet. After Mathias went down a different path, Cosmic Fall continued with Marcin on guitar. Things got a lot heavier and fuzzier when they released “In Search Of Outer Space” in March 2018.
An interesting experience, but it was time to change things up again.

Leo replaced Marcin on guitar in early 2020, bringing back those spaced-out psychedelic vibes from the band's early days. Well, we all know what came next...
After a two-year hiatus, it was time for Cosmic Fall to return and record a mix of very spontaneous and somewhat spontaneous songs, resulting in the long-awaited fourth album. Now, in 2024, there’s finally a release date for “Back Where the Fire Flows”: November 15.
With this release, the band is returning to its roots, while also incorporating new elements and becoming, one might say, more experimental.

Now that Klaus has also decided to call it a day to pursue a different musical path, the band decided to replaced him with an old friend. Sergej is taking over the four strings and bringing some synthesizers into the mix. Unrelated to that, Cosmic Fall is leaning more towards the Krautrock genre, experimenting with energy-fueled psychedelic kraut jams. A new opportunity awaits…
